Apollo is a social enterprise on a mission to empower Guernsey’s young people through meaningful, life-affirming activities and mentorship. Apollo works with young people from a variety of backgrounds, usually struggling with social, emotional and mental health. Referrals are made by social services, charities, schools and directly from families. Apollo has developed Impact Mentoring, a one-to-one program centred around child-led activities, which have included everything from boxing to table-tennis to adventure walks to juggling to sea-swimming. By facilitating activities young people want to do whilst providing a safe space in which they feel heard and supported, Impact Mentoring has had exceptionally high engagement and positive impact with Guernsey’s most disadvantaged young people. Through partnership with local CSR / ESG initiatives, Apollo has made the Impact Mentoring program available to not only private customers and States-funded referrals, but to young people who would not otherwise have access to such opportunities.
