We began in 1992 when partner, former San Francisco mayor and current Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, founded the first PlumpJack Wine Store on Fillmore Street with the goal of making the experience of wine discovery more fun and approachable for all – the connoisseur and the uninitiated alike. The Wagner family comes from a long line of grape growers and winemakers, with a history in Napa Valley dating back to the 1850s. In 1972, Chuck Wagner started Caymus Vineyards with his late parents, Lorna and Charlie Wagner Sr., establishing Caymus Cabernet as one of the region’s most celebrated wines. Today, Caymus remains entirely family-run, and two of Chuck’s children, Charlie and Jenny Wagner, work alongside him. Together, they are proud to offer a wide range of varietals under different labels.
