In a Bolton pub, on Christmas Eve 1999, our CEO and founder John Roberts made a £1 bet that he could set up his own company and disrupt the white goods market by selling appliances online. That’s exactly what we’ve been doing ever since. But it’s not just white goods anymore - we have a full range of electricals and have recently launched our own mobile network - AO Mobile. We own and control our own logistics network, meaning we can offer next-day delivery, and we’re the only UK retailer to wholly own a recycling plant - meaning we can control the whole customer journey, from click to delivery and then taking away your old appliance for responsible recycling or reuse. Through our state-of-the-art recycling and plastics processing facilities and our refurbished tech business musicMagpie, we’re building a circular approach to electricals, which keeps them and their materials in use for longer.
