Research for development Living at the Base of the Pyramid, the very poor survive without access to safe drinking water, nor to a varied diet, a reliable power grid or modern medicines. They can change that, they can make the difference to their own lives if we share with them with the fruits of our research. Research in the South, for the South and with the South. Research on disease, on access to water, and on poverty and hunger. Today, too little science is applied to development goals. What there is must be shared; what there is merits support; what there is, is ours and theirs. Our goals To overcome the problems of health, in line with the principles of sustainable development and social justice To participate in the socio-economic progress of affected regions by enabling sustainable economic development models rooted in local resources. Empowering local communities and enable them to take their due place in sustainable economic models. Our work We enable and engage in R&D on a range of durable technologies which are low-cost and simple in their use, and appropriate to the basic needs and socio-cultural conditions of the poorest of the poor. We facilitate the dissemination of these technologies in developing countries with our local and international partners.
