Imagine how complicated your life and daily activities would be if you could not see. How you would move, choose what to wear or how to match clothes, go shopping and pay with cash. How you would separate laundry by color, or explain someone your exact position if you get lost, and all other situations you experience every day and information you can rely on and consider completely normal, but that are hardly available or utterly unavailable to blind people. These problems are solved by our smart glove for the blind, Anora. Our product, Anora,is a multi-functional electronic device created to provide more independence to the blind and more comfortable performance of their daily activities. Currently, there are about 40 million blind people worldwide and 12.000 blind in Serbia.They generally use traditional, old-fashioned technologies that turn out to be insufficient to meet their daily needs. Conversations and time spent with blind persons made us realize that market is lacking appropriate modern devices that would help them perform their activities more efficiently. White cane is still the most commonly used; it not only helps its users in the walk and allows them to scan their surroundings for near obstacles,but also identifies a blind person on the street. Problem of blind people is to detect obstacles at the height above their hips(e.g.at the level of the chest or head),for which reason they often stumble into scaffolding, branches,etc. We solve this problem through our orientation mode,i.e.,orientation sensor that helps the blind person,by a simple movement of his/her hand,to “scan” the space in front of him/her and avoid obstacles not detectable by a white cane. There are mobile applications for the determination of light intensity and bill denominations,but they are inaccurate and complicated for use.There are also function for telling date and time, panic button, making phone calls and etc...
