Anneliese Dodds MP Information

Anneliese was elected in June 2017, and has been a shadow Treasury minister since July 2017. Anneliese lives on Rose Hill with her partner Ed and two children Freddie and Isabella. Anneliese represented Oxford from 2014 to 2017 as our MEP. In that role, Anneliese served on the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, focusing especially on clamping down on tax avoidance by big companies. She was also responsible for tightening rules on nancial services, to help prevent any repeat of the global nancial crisis. Before becoming an MEP, Anneliese worked for many years as an academic. She also chaired a local debt and welfare advice centre. Anneliese is working with a range of local organisations to try and tackle our city's housing crisis and make sure there are new homes and action to reduce rough sleeping. Locally, our public services are struggling from underinvestment and unnecessary reorganisation under the Tories. In Parliament, Anneliese is working for more investment in our NHS and social care services, and to end the freeze on public sector wages which is making living in Oxford unaffordable for nurses, teachers and other essential public service workers. Anneliese is also campaigning for fair funding for schools, an end to tuition fees and a genuine National Education Service, so that our children can get the best start in life and people of all ages can continue to learn and develop new skills. Anneliese is regularly out and about in Oxford East, attending community events and speaking to people in their homes during weekly 'doorstep' sessions.
