Annakshetra, a unique initiative by Centre for Development Communication (CDC), Jaipur, is formed with an aim to minimize food loss and wastage(FLW). In 2010, initially the concept began with effectively channellising the food leftovers in weddings, parties, restaurants and temples, with an objective to deliver the spare food collected from donors to the needy people of local community. The idea remains not only to work in the domain of hunger relief but also reduce carbon footprint by discouraging unsustainable practices.
