Animal Chiropractic Information

Dr. Rowan has been practicing Animal Chiropractic since 1998. After completing a 180 hour basic course in Animal Chiropractic at Options for Animals in Illinois, he was certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. He has since completed over 200 additional hours of classroom and practical training in chiropractic. All certified doctors of chiropractic or veterinary medicine who practice Animal Chiropractic are required to maintain a minimum of 30 hours every 3 years of continuing education credits in Animal Chiropractic. Dr. Rowan is a 1967 graduate of the University of California at Davis. He completed an internship and surgical residency at the famed Animal Medical Center in New York City and a fellowship in cardiac surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital and School of Medicine in New York City as well. He was the hospital director of Owl Creek Veterinary Hospital in Virginia Beach from 1986 until starting his exclusive practice of Animal Chiropractic and Homeopathy in 2002. Dr. Rowan is the chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association and is chairman of the Legislative Committee. He travels throughout the US on behalf of the animal chiropractic profession and is active with state veterinary and chiropractic licensing boards on the educational and licensing requirements for chiropractors and veterinarians who practice Animal Chiropractic.
