loveLife promotes healthy, positive, HIV-free living among South African teenagers. loveLife combines a sustained high-powered multi-media campaign with nationwide community-level outreach and support programmes for youth. loveLife’s programmes are implemented by a national youth volunteer service corps known as groundBREAKERS in partnership with more than 230 community-based non-government organisations, 8000 schools and 479 government clinics across South Africa. In 2013, major funding for loveLife is provided by the National Department of Health, the National Department of Social Development and Sports and Recreation South Africa. The Anglo American Chairman’s Fund, Berco, Dewey & Le Boeuf, FIFA Football for Hope, Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Mpumalanga Department of Social Development, the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund, Newsclip, North West Department of Social Development, Royal Bafokeng Nation, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Volkswagen South Africa.

Ikamva Labantu is over 60 years old with a well-established team and programme making significant social impact. It was founded by Helen Lieberman during apartheid, when she joined a group of local women to build desperately needed solutions for challenges in the townships. The organisation remains uniquely women and community-led with 90% of its staff being women who live in the same communities that they uplift. This means every cent stretches further to uplift under-resourced communities. The programme has three core programmes: - Early Childhood Development training for practitioners and principals - Child, Youth and Parenting that focuses on afterschool programmes - Older Persons programme providing local Senior Clubs and homebased community rehabilitation for frail elders.
