The Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information (the Centre) is responsible for developing and implementing the province’s confidential and secure electronic health record (EHR). The Centre also works to improve the health of all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians by providing quality health information to health professionals, the public, researchers and health system decision-makers. The Centre is a crown corporation of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. It also receives funding from the not-for-profit group Canada Health Infoway, which funds EHRs across Canada.
Our vision is: Improved Health Through Quality Health Information
Canadian Health Systems is a leader in the fields of electronic medical records systems (EMR) and medical group practice management improvement..
Our mission is to support clinic owners, administrators and doctors in the development, operations and growth of their health care practices and facilities.
Our platform, EMR Advantage®, makes both practicing and charting easier, while improving operational efficiency by automating time consuming administrative duties that overwhelm and cause burn-out in staff.
EMR Advantage® is designed around mobility and ease-of-use, enabling doctors and other practitioners to achieve the highest level of practice performance and satisfaction.
We build strong relationships with our clients. We take care of large chains and health systems as well as small groups and practices. We have a deep bench, and our practice consultants take a collaborative approach that has led Ontario practitioners caring for over 1.4 million patients to make the switch to EMR Advantage® from other EMR systems. We make switching easy, and whether you need turn-key clinic set up, or are just interested in improving how your office works, we are there for you.
As the emerging field of EMR software continues to grow, EMR Advantage® by Canadian Health Systems remains unmatched by any other EMR software offering.
We also provide individually designed web-sites, patient portals, registration kiosks and a best-in-class virtual care platform integration.
Whatever your specific IT needs are, our focus at Canadian Health Systems is always on delivering individualized and “easy to use” systems and services that allow your facility to run more effortlessly, with better physician, staff and patient engagement.
We also provide comprehensive staffing support services to further ease the burden of running your practice(s). We are truly your invisible partner in successfully managing your professional practice! We can put the joy back into running your practice!
Are you looking to use existing primary care data in a meaningful way? Access and use EMR data beyond your immediate practice to answer clinical questions and support your community with meaningful data? In a safe and secure environment? Managed by a trusted partner?
The Health Data Coalition (HDC) is a physician-led data sharing initiative funded by the General Practice Services Committee (GPSC).
The HDC supports a learning health system. Through its application HDC Discover, the HDC provides primary care physicians aggregate patient level data from individual physician practices, divisions, as well as province wide. This information can be viewed accross all the major EMRs used in primary care in BC. In so doing, physicians and divisions are able to reflect on their practice or community needs, and are also able to collaborate with their peers through private sharing. HDC Discover further supports self-reflective practice for the individual physician member in partnership quality improvement initiatives.
HDC Discover is a flexible, accessible platform that provides HDC users access to a robust source of medical care data, while protecting provider and patient identity, and ensuring that physicians are always in control of their data.
Together, we work with HDC users and partners to:
• Unleash the untapped potential of EMR data from community physician offices
• Connect and empower physicians with a better understanding of their practice, and support Divisions with aggregate trends in their community so to enhance patient care and contribute to a sustainable health care system
• Remain actively engaged in building and improving HDC Discover through fair process, sustainable funding and transparent governance models.
