Westminster Abbey is one of the world's great churches. It has been the setting for every coronation since that of William the Conqueror in 1066 and for countless other great events in the life of the nation. Thirty kings and queens lie buried within the Abbey’s walls, and many great men and women from our history are commemorated here, from statesmen and soldiers to scientists, writers and artists.
Every year more than a million visitors from around the world come to explore this wonderful 750-year-old building. Thousands more come to worship at the daily services which are at the heart of life at the Abbey.
The Abbey is an exciting, fascinating place to work. Our 600 highly-committed staff and volunteers are dedicated to caring for the Abbey and for all who visit and worship here. Our community is made up of clergy, musicians, vergers, conservators, stonemasons, teachers, visitor welcome and security staff, and many more besides.
The Abbey is also home to the thriving Westminster Abbey Institute which aims to renew faith in public life, and to the Abbey's Foundation which raises funds to protect the Abbey, its collections and musical heritage for today and for future generations.

Mount Angel Seminary, the oldest Catholic seminary west of the Mississippi River, was established in 1889 by the monks of Mount Angel Abbey at the request of the Archbishop of Oregon City. The primary purpose of Mount Angel Seminary is forming and educating men for the Catholic priesthood for dioceses and religious communities. But a sizable number of non-seminarian students, including lay people, study at Mount Angel Seminary in the Graduate School of Theology. Mount Angel Seminary offers degrees ranging from bachelors to doctorate and is an accredited institution under the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU).
We are a monastic community of women who seek God in our daily lives according to the Rule of Benedict. Through our ministry of prayer, work and community living, we listen and respond to the needs of the Church and the world.
Saint Benedict’s Monastery is located in St. Joseph, Minn., and Saint Scholastica Convent, our retirement and assisted living facility, is located in St. Cloud, Minn. We have more than 100 employees across both campuses who serve in a variety of roles, including administration, development, food services, health care, wellness and environmental services. Employees get the opportunity to work among the religious women who live here.
Our ministries include education, health care, pastoral ministry and social ministry, among many others. Our donors, volunteers and employees help make our ministries possible by giving gifts of money, time and compassion. If you are interested in serving alongside the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict and helping to further our ministries, stay connected and reach out to us.
