Ames & Whitaker is a professional corporation with offices located in Southington, CT. Our predecessor firm was established in Waterbury in 1947 and became a corporate practice in 1970. We became Ames & Whitaker in 1990. Ames & Whitaker is owned and managed by four principals: T. Gregory Ames, Jr., AIA, Stephen C. Whitaker, AIA, Roger W. Saulnier, AIA, LEED AP and Alan S. Lagocki, AIA, LEED AP. Ames & Whitaker maintains a staff of 10 people. Five individuals are registered architects in Connecticut and other registrations are carried for all of New England. The firm's principals have been in practice for over 30 years. The firm's principals, senior staff and architects-in-training are all members of the American Institute of Architects and AIA Connecticut. The fully equipped office includes Windows 7 based drafting stations utilizing AutoCAD and Revit Architectural Suite 2013 software. All systems are networked using Windows Server 2008 R2. Ames & Whitaker maintains workmen's compensation and standard public liability insurance. Our professional liability insurance coverage is in the amount of $1,000,000. Ames & Whitaker is licensed as a corporation for the practice of architecture by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (license #11).
