Scott Stangeland owns and operates AmeriStrategies, a government relations and business development consulting firm that provides services in Michigan and Washington, DC. r. Stangeland specializes in business coalition building and the mobilization of in-district issue management and communications. Mr. Stangeland has extensive direct government and public relations experience and is subject matter expertise is in tax, insurance regulation, infrastructure, gaming, health care finance, financial services/consumer lending and electronic payments. During his career, Mr. Stangeland has successfully built several business coalitions to impact public policy at the Federal and state level.Due to his extensive knowledge and experience in the consumer lending and electronic payments industry, Mr. Stangeland serves as a member of the Electronic Transaction Association in Washington, D.C. Mr. Stangeland was the lead public affairs consultant for the Ambassador Bridge during the successful expansion of the U.S. and Canadian bridge plazas to alleviate traffic backups after the September 11, attacks. Mr. Stangeland served under President George H. W. Bush as part of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel and also Michigan Governor John Engler's traveling Administrative Assistant providing Mr. Stangeland with a working knowledge of political decision-making at the highest level state government. Mr. Stangeland also served as Director of External Affairs for Prechter Holdings where he managed all political and civic affairs for Heinz C. Prechter. r. Stangeland managed Prechter's national fundraising activities including Prechter's position as Finance Chairman of the Republican Governor's Association, Dole for President National Finance Team and the Republican National Committee's Finance Steering Committee.
