The company was incorporated in 1847 by the Annin family in New York City and has been family owned and operated since it opened. It all started in a sail loft in downtown New York City in the 1820's when Alexander Annin began making U.S. flags for merchant ships. Since then, Annin Flagmakers has grown along with our nation. Situated in Essex County since 1916, Annin now has five locations in the U.S.A. and has more than 500 employees in NJ, VA, and OH.
