Altruistic Apps is an independent software studio built on a simple premise: technology should serve people, not extract from them. Founded by Robert Poole, Altruistic Apps develops free, ad-free applications that prioritize community value over commercial gain. Every product we ship is built with the same commitment — no subscriptions, no data harvesting, no paywalls. Our flagship product, Weather TV, is a free platform bringing together 100+ live storm chasers, weather forecasters, and weather creators in one place. Available on web, Android, and Samsung Smart TV, Weather TV features live NEXRAD radar, NWS watch and warning alerts, SPC severe weather outlooks, and real-time push notifications — all at no cost to users and with every view, ad dollar, and super chat flowing directly to the creators who earned it. We are also developing Enrique's Time Out for Learning, a free, open-source Android app designed to turn phone unlock moments into low-stakes learning opportunities for kids ages 8–12 — no ads, no accounts, no data collection. Altruistic Apps is a long-term project with a clear philosophy: build things worth building, give them away, and trust that goodwill compounds. Products in development and deployment span mobile (Android), web (Node.js/Express, Railway), smart TV (Samsung Tizen), and push notification infrastructure (Firebase Cloud Messaging / NWS API integration).
