ALS CARE Project Information

The ALS Care Project began as an endeavor by Pamela A. Cazzolli, RN to improve the care of people with ALS since 1984. Recognizing the high prevalence of ALS families who face unnecessary suffering, Cazzolli launched the project, with the help of Joan C. Warren, MSW (social worker), in order to pursue the research and education mission. In 1990, Cazzolli began as a pioneer investigator of ALS patients using nasal (noninvasive) breathing support to help them to live and breathe easier. Over the years, she consulted with thousands of ALS individuals, their families and healthcare providers, and authored many articles on living with ALS.
