The Alford Group designs and manufactures specialist explosive tools for EOD, IEDD, breaching and demolition operations worldwide. Based in the UK, the group comprises Alford Technologies, which develops and produces disruptors, breaching charges, demolition charges and precision cutting tools, and Alford Training, which delivers NATO-aligned explosives-related training to defence, security and law enforcement organisations operating across NATO and partner nations. For over four decades, Alford tools have been trusted by military, government and commercial operators to solve problems that conventional methods can't: rendering safe improvised devices, clearing sea mines and legacy ordnance, cutting steel and rebar, and breaching under operational constraints. Products such as the Vulcan™, Bootbanger™ and Bottler™ are in service with EOD teams in more than 100 countries. Every tool is developed through rigorous testing at our own range facilities, informed by direct operational feedback. Training courses are delivered by experienced instructors, on the range and in the field, so operators leave confident in both the equipment and the judgement to apply it. From man-portable charges to ROV-deployed underwater systems, the Alford Group exists to give operators safer standoff, greater precision and better outcomes in the most demanding environments. Founded in 1985 by Dr Sidney Alford, the inventor of the world’s first liquid-lined explosive disruptor, we have a rich legacy of pioneering explosive charge technology. Our expertise extends to comprehensive C-IED, EOD, WTI, HME, and Breaching training at our private range in South West England through Alford Training.
