Stowmarket High School is an 11-18 school serving the community of the rapidly growing town of Stowmarket in Suffolk, England. The school was founded in 1908. In 2015 the school accepted 11 yr old students for the first time following the reorganisation of the 3 tier system in Suffolk. In September 2018 it became an Academy school within the Waveney Valley Academies Trust. In 2020 the school will move into new accomodation, on its current site, as a result of a complete rebuild, funded by the Priority Schools Building Programme.
The school’s strapline is ‘The Future. Our Business’ as the school sees its mission to look beyond the accountability measures and trends of political fancy, and rather focus on ensuring the students of Stowmarket High School enjoy a broad and rich curriculum, that endeavours to connect the school to the world of higher and further education and employment.
The school’s Headteacher is Mr Dave Lee-Allan, who was appointed in 2015.
Copleston High School is a popular 11-18 mixed comprehensive noted for its caring and disciplined atmosphere. It was judged as a ‘good school ‘by Ofsted in December 2023. As a school we are committed to raising standards of learning and teaching within all subject areas. Applicants will be impressed by the behaviour, ethos and outcomes of students across the school.
Visitors often comment that Copleston is a very special place. Our wonderful community of students and staff are at the heart if this. There is no typical Copleston Student. We have our own aspirations and follow our own paths, but we all work to embrace Copleston values of being respectful, resilient, compassionate, aspirational and resourceful. We dream big dreams and we aim high, both academically and in our passions and pursuits, but we also celebrate the smaller personal achievements and acts on kindness that helps us find our place in the world.
