In 2007, Baril established Alchemy Ventures, a sister company that applies the capabilities of Baril Corporation to generate service-for-equity partnerships with early-stage entrepreneurs. Through state-of-the-art prototyping, product development, engineering, manufacturing services and intellectual property advisors, Alchemy Ventures helps early stage companies bring products to market or position them to where conventional VC funding or a licensing agreement makes sense. Together with Baril Corporation - a full-scale contract engineering, prototyping and manufacturing company - Alchemy is able to take an idea from a hand sketch to a fully developed and patented product. At Alchemy, our strategy is to incubate early and expansion stage opportunities to the point at which long-term value is visible and viable. Together we will strive to develop a partnership where intellectual property meets applied engineering and manufacturing specialties. With kinder terms than venture capital and the ability to add more value than most angel funding, Alchemy’s approach enables the inventor/innovator the right balance of speed, control and retained ownership.
