Headquartered in Torrance, California, Aksys Games was founded by Akibo Shieh and a small group of talented videogame professionals as a localization company specializing in Japanese-to-English translation of games and anime. Some of the company’s clientele included well-known game publishers Namco Bandai, XSEED, and Atlus USA. On July 14, 2006, Aksys Games became a full-fledged videogame publisher with the announcement of Eagle Eye Golf for the PlayStation®2, and is now committed to publishing unique, high-quality interactive entertainment on all current and future platforms for Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony. Though Aksys Games has seen success with titles such as Hooked: Real Motion Fishing, BIT.TRIP RUNNER, and Family Table Tennis, the company is best known for its library of fighting games, including Guilty Gear and Battle Fantasia. The company's latest entry, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, is its best-selling title to date.
