Akeman is led by James Miller, a senior data and analytics leader with over 20 years experience. He has a track record of transformation and growth, with a focus on the retail, consumer, and property sectors and specialises in the implementation of strategic, data, analytics, insight, and research capabilities. James has worked within and for many major retail and consumer brands, as both a data leader and consultant, leading multiple projects across the globe. He blends in-depth knowledge of data strategy, retail, customer analytics/data science, consumer insight, location intelligence, and omnichannel marketing, with commercial acumen and a background advising C-level stakeholders. Achievements: ● Founded intu’s first data and analytics office: put in place infrastructure, team, and strategy ● Led the design of Ordnance Survey’s data strategy: first of its kind, globally ● Devised a ground-breaking method for omnichannel valuation of retail stores: valued as a ‘strategic and saleable asset’ by intu’s administrators ● Founded Dixons’ first strategy and analytics function: responsible for informing business transformation across the UK and Italy ● Developed global customer strategy and location investment plans for Estée Lauder: driving improved marketing ROI and successful chain expansion ● Designed market entry plans and data analytics function for adidas: across 30 countries ● Created Mosaic Digital, the UK’s first Digital Consumer Segmentation: used by businesses to optimise their marketing effectively across digital and social platforms ● Authored Experian’s ‘High Street 2020’ retail futures project: presented findings at Houses of Parliament, London Assembly and via national media.
