Akamai HR Solutions Information

The meaning of the Hawaiian word Akamai is smart, intelligent or sharp. The word Akamai just stuck after Sarah experienced living in Hawaii on the island of Maui and then settled back into life on the mainland in Southern California. Sarah Miller is the founder and principal consultant of Akamai HR Solutions with 20 years of experience as a human resources professional. Sarah has held a variety of key leadership positions at large international companies, high-growth technology, medical device, software development and manufacturing companies along with private and public educational institutions. During the course of her career, Sarah has successfully led a plethora of HR initiatives, including strategic recruitment, talent acquisition and management, succession planning, employee engagement, organizational design, training and development, employee relations and investigations, performance management and sensitive terminations, restructures and layoffs, HR audits and compliance while mentoring other HR professionals. Sarah graduated Summa Cum Laude from California State Polytechnic University Pomona with an MBA including a thesis titled, The Relationship Between Employee Dissatisfaction & Voluntary Turnover. Sarah also graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University Bakersfield with a Bachelors in Business Administration/HR Management. In addition, Sarah maintains her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, is a Certified Professional Résumé Writer (CPRW), is a Certified Internet Recruiter (CIR) through AIRS, is a Certified Civil Rights Investigator through ATIXA and is an Achieve Global Leadership Certified Trainer. In order to stay current with the ever-changing HR landscape, Sarah is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Professionals In Human Resources Association (PIHRA) and the San Diego Human Resources Forum (SDHR Forum).
