As AkaiCon has always striven to keep the safety and wellbeing of the staff, volunteers, vendors, and attendees as our number-one priority, we have an important announcement to make. We will be cancelling AkaiCon 2020 and focusing on making 2021 even better! Our dates for 2021 are July 30th August 1st at the Wilson County Expo Center in Lebanon, TN We cannot in good conscience subject anyone to a group gathering that could potentially cause others to get sick. We cannot in good conscience ask attendees, staff, and volunteers to stay in hotel rooms together and gather at events in close contact. We have always valued each member of AkaiCon as an important asset to the strength of this convention, and NO ONE is expendable. We need each one of you safe, strong, and well to make sure AkaiCon 2021 is a success. If you have already purchased a ticket to AkaiCon 2020, and you want to attend in 2021, all you need to do is keep your email confirmation and show it at the door in 2021. There are no actions you need to take to roll your ticket over to 2021. Please keep in mind our prices will not change from the current tier system. If you will be needing a refund, we are handling these on a case-by-case basis. If you do request a refund, please email our refund department at akaiconrefund@gmail.com and we will process your refund as soon as possible. All refund requests must be submitted by July 1st, 2020. For those who applied for panels for AkaiCon 2020, we will keep your submissions on hand for 2021 and will open the form back up in a few months. We will keep you posted! All previously announced guests will be coming to AkaiCon 2021 and we will be announcing more guests soon! For any contest winners who received a free badge to AkaiCon 2020, your badge will roll over to 2021.
