Music has a magical way of taking anything I have to give and transforming it into a pure expression. No matter what I am feeling, joy, sorrow, anger; all feelings are welcome within the musical embrace; taken in and reborn as something flowing and effective. Music is strange and wondrous to me. It has been a lifelong relationship with all manner of ups and downs, ins and outs. It has lead me to places of radical exaltation and through realms of shattering humility. To me, music is more than music. I am so grateful for the opportunity to play. I find my musical inspirations from all over the world, both in the instruments I play and the style in which I do so. From the East I find a refinement of passion and seemingly reckless abandon melded with a heartfelt cultivation of subtlety. From the West (the land of my birth) I find an ever deepening connection with the natural world, the dreamer’s path and the heroes journey. Somehow all of this combines in me into a sense of the ancient, living world in which we live. It instills me with awe and a great love for all of creation. My hope is that I can share something of the impact of the mystery I see all around and within, to inspire others as others have inspired me. I find this mystery is nothing other than our heart, our health and our way of being in the world.
