The key goals: - Foundation of modern DS - Introduction to full cycle of DS project Designed for: - Programmers who want to switch to DS - Specialists from IT sector who want to get cross field knowledge in DS - Small business who want to explore possible benefits from DS field Added value for students: - view on business project from DS perspective - understanding of modern capability of DS - know-how of R ecosystem New roles and tasks student will be able to solve after finishing course: - become junior data scientist - communicate with data scientist - drive his/her own data science project Course format: - online interactive course for group of up to 5 students - 3 weeks x 2 lectures per week (total 6 lectures) - one lecture: 2 hours (~30 min theory + ~90 min practice) - addon: each week 3 hours hackathon Hackaton’s Overview - Experiments with Data. Crafting Dataset (get into a routine, focus on solving real problems) - Feature Engineering. Model Selection (focus on fundamentals, algorithm and KPI’s) - Building and Deploying Solution Prototype (business thinking when achieving practical results)
