Lifeguard Ambulance Service was founded in 1990 by John and Deborah Roche as a small domestic and international provider of fixed-wing air ambulance services. In 1998, the company was expanded to include ground ambulance services. Since its humble beginnings, Lifeguard has grown exponentially to include more than 800 team members across six states. Lifeguard continually strives to deliver comfortable, comprehensive care to its patients while providing exceptional customer service by promoting a culture of creativity, innovation, and constant improvement. Lifeguard's policies and procedures are built upon a foundation of industry best practices established by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS). As a demonstration of its commitment to quality, Lifeguard voluntarily started the prestigious CAAS accreditation in 2011. Since that time, Lifeguard has received full accreditation in multiple locations and will continue to pursue the industry gold standard until all of its operations are accredited. Lifeguard provides a full-service solution through E-911 operations, emergency and non-emergency transports, value-based healthcare partnerships, specialty ambulance program management, and system consulting.

Emergency air medical transport and treatment is often the only access to lifesaving emergency care they have – providing access to millions of people who otherwise would not have been able to make it to a trauma center. Metro Aviation, Inc. is divided into two primary areas of focus. Our Aircraft Completion Center installs full Air Medical, Law Enforcement, and VIP/Corporate kits, components, and avionics packages for new and existing customers. Our completion center is the largest and most comprehensive Airbus completion center in the world. In addition to the installations performed by our Aircraft Completion Center, we are also heavily involved in operating aircraft for hospitals across the country. We are a traditional provider meaning we have no medical employees on staff. We believe there should be a separation of duties in this regard as a serious conflict of interest can occur.
