Archean is an AI-native materials engineering company compressing the timeline for bringing novel materials from scientific possibility to industrial deployment. The next generation of energy, computing, clean water, and industry depends on materials that do not yet exist. We begin with the requirements of the target system and design backward from those demands, tightly coupling material design, synthesis, and system-level proof. This allows us to supply proven materials engineered to each customer’s unique system requirements, on a shorter path to deployment. Manufacturing partners produce the materials at volume, while Archean remains the customer’s supplier throughout their commercial life. With technical roots at UC Berkeley, Archean brings together leaders in materials science, including the pioneers of metal-organic frameworks recognized by the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry; creators of the computational systems that power modern AI at scale; and executives who have built and scaled businesses, led public companies, and brought advanced materials and AI into industrial production. Our ambition is to bring new materials into industrial use in years rather than decades, accelerating how quickly the world can deploy the materials on which its future depends.
