The Firm AHJ Engineers, a Professional Corporation, is a structural engineering consulting firm based in Boise, Idaho serving the Western United States for over 30 years. The ability to design unique and large-scale projects within strict time and cost boundaries sets us apart. Our mission is: ‘Preserving the Past, Protecting the Future and Providing life saving Solutions Every Day’. The primary emphasis of our firm is to provide structural solutions, calculations and drawings for architectural, industrial, and construction clients for all types of building projects. We believe our clients deserve more than just a good structural solution. There are architectural objectives, constructability concerns, building department requirements and not least of all, the budget and schedule. Our designs are intended to: • Hold life safety paramount • Meet client criteria, goals and budget • Provide unique solutions emphasizing constructability • Comply with the code requirements and sustainability goals • Do the above while providing prompt and cost effective services The Staff AHJ Engineers employs a staff of exceptional people with both the skills and knowledge to ensure projects are successful. We strongly encourage continuing education, in-house training and participation in professional societies. We employ engineers, CAD technicians, 3D ‘BIM’ modelers and administrative/operations personnel. AHJ has engineers licensed in 20 states and a LEED accredited professional. The staff enjoys a relaxed atmosphere, rewarding work, competitive benefits and room to grow. Cost and Quality Control At every design stage there are decisions made that will affect the cost of construction. Knowing the different materials and methods of construction, relative costs, and the trade-offs, we can communicate any opportunities to save the owner money without sacrificing quality. We strongly believe drawings have to be accurate and understandable before reaching the field. Every set of drawings is regularly reviewed in-house by the project manager and by the stamping principal engineer for quality assurance at appropriate stages. This extra effort is done intentionally to promote problem-free construction, which saves money and angst for all parties involved.
