Since 1989, retired engineer Alberto Rodriguez has focused his farming operation to the production of Vetiver Grass, Chrisopogon zizanioides (previously Vetiveria zizaniodes) for erosion control and soil conservation applications. Today the use of vetiver includes a large number of environmental solutions in phytorremediation, leacheate control, and a growing list of bioengineering activities.
