Agentia Design Engineering Information

Our practice represents a convergence of thinking and ethos, a collective of like minded people who believe in the creation of a studio relentlessly seeking self betterment, for us as a group, in the work we do and as citizens of the world. Design and engineering are constructs whose purpose should by definition be aligned to continuously striving towards creating a world that will be better now and in the future. Our studio is formed around the personal experiences of our design and engineering cohort, their passions, their attitudes, their aptitudes and their agency. Many of us have shared a pathway bringing us to the creation of Agentia, having been a material part of the the creation and growth of the hugely successful AKT II (including its early life as Adams Kara Taylor, AKT and finally AKT II). This formative experience we have used to reflect upon what the future of design engineering consultancy must be. Enabled through a collective exposure, amounting to more than 50 years, in the design and delivery of leading edge award winning buildings, bridges, landscapes and artworks we have assembled a team who bring the best in respect of attitude and aptitude. Our personal commitment to this work and to self challenge throughout the journey is clearly visible as a development in complexity scale, precision and response to climate emergency and the pressure of biodiversity loss. Our work with Agentia will draw on the lessons learned in delivering new build and retrofit projects in London and the UK alongside our learnings from exposure to overseas projects. Environmental factors craft the response where ever we work. We have learned how to design to align to local market or vernacular strengths and weaknesses, how to embed passive and active sustainability and count the costs of carbon viewed through multiple lenses and boundary conditions, site, neighbourhood, region, national and global.
