Age UK Berkshire Information

Age UK Berkshire loves later life! We are the leading organisation providing integrated health and wellbeing services for older people across Berkshire, a local independent charity and part of the Age UK brand. We are proud to be a Brand Partner within Age UK, the international charity that provides services, support and products for people aged over fifty; we remain a locally-based, independently-governed charity, working to the same high standards as all other Age UKs and able to provide tailored services and support for older people in Berkshire. We provide a range of free-at-point-of-delivery and charged-for services, as appropriate, according to need and demand. Our funding comes from local fundraising, contracts and agreements from local councils and the Health Service, and from payments from customers. Our website contains those funding details. We operate in all six Districts in Berkshire: Slough, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell Forest, Wokingham, Reading and West Berkshire. Services for people in later life are different in each District, as needs and requirements of older people are different, often depending on demand or geography or other organisations offering similar services. We don't believe in setting-up in opposition to other charities or companies and like to work alongside those who are willing to work with us. We currently have 45 paid employees and about 200 volunteers across Berkshire, and we're always looking for more.
