AFTENCAP Information

At Air Force TENCAP… or Air Force Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities… we search for emerging technologies, and build partnerships with industry and academia, in order to rapidly develop warfighting capabilities, and address immediate operational needs. When AF TENCAP identifies these, we initiate projects that can serve as prototypes for large-scale acquisition programs. We also look for new ways to use systems that are already in the field but could be repurposed in order to meet evolving needs. Air Force TENCAP was originally created as a cold-war era organization to leverage investment from the U.S. Intelligence Community, to provide capabilities direct to the warfighter. Over the decades, our mission has adapted, as both our capabilities and our threats have evolved. But innovation still drives us. It’s at the heart and soul of everything we do. Our primary objective is the protection of this Nation’s most critical resource… the warfighter. In order to understand warfighter needs, AF TENCAP uses the USAFWC direct liaison authorities to tie into every segment of the Air Force, from space to combat aviation to special operations.
