AFRIpads Foundation Information

The AFRIpads Foundation is an independent foundation that supports the goal of the Uganda based AFRIpads Ltd. The AFRIpads Foundation mission is to empower women and girls through the provision of AFRIpads: locally produced, washable sanitary pads. We want to empower Ugandan schoolgirls to achieve their full academic potential curbing the high rates of menstrual-related absenteeism. These remain a key barrier to the academic performance of the girl-child, her retention in primary school and her ability to achieve secondary and tertiary education. The AFRIpads Foundation, established in July 2010, was created to raise money and buy reusable (washable) sanitary pads for vulnerable girls in developing countries. The AFRIpads Foundation believes that all girls have the right to hygienic solutions for their period. By supporting the foundation, you help distribute free menstrual kits to disadvantaged girls across Uganda and other developing countries, empowering them with the protection and confidence they need to attend school, no matter what time of the month.
