Afinin Labs inc. is a company founded by two researchers at Memorial University - Dr. Garnett Wilson and Dr. Wolfgang Banzhaf - and housed in the Genesis Centre, Memorial's business incubator. The company was founded to commercialize a technology developed by the researchers, specifically an artificial intelligence algorithm that has been proven in back-testing to be highly accurate in predicting the impending rise or fall of a stock price based on recent trade prices. The client application will give individual investors an algorithmic trading capability that has until now only been typically available to professionals working with quantitative analysts inside brokerages and financial institutions.
