headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds. Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace centres in communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools. headspace can help young people with mental health, physical health (including sexual health), alcohol and other drug services, and work and study support. We are one of Australia’s largest providers of community-managed psychosocial services, offering residential, mobile outreach, centre-based and online support. Alongside One Door Mental Health and The Haven Foundation, we provide individualised, evidence-based and recovery-focused support to more than 25,000 people each year. We’ve supported people, and their families, friends, carers and supporters, for nearly 50 years. Some of our most important lessons have come not from textbooks, but from people who have walked these paths themselves. This lived experience continues to shape everything we do. We value lived experience and lived expertise. Many people across our workforce draw on their own experiences of mental health challenges, recovery and supporting others to improve services, influence the sector and drive change. We do this in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and communities, and alongside clinical care providers, because working together leads to better outcomes.
