Aerolab, born in 2003 was a joint venture between FondTech and Dallara Automobili, and is now the sole property of FondTech. The core of the company, with its headquarters located in Sant'Agata Bolognese (BO), is composed of a multidisciplinary staff of professionals that are highly specialized in the automobile industry, specifically in aerodynamics and motorsport. Aerolab conceives unique customized programs to develop the aerodynamics of all types of high tech businesses in Italy and Europe. This development is achieved through scale models that are tested in Aerolab’s wind tunnel, a high tech facility that covers an area of 1100m². It also has the possibility of doing model yaw tests. The test section is 7.5m² (3.4m x 2.2m height) with a 50m/s nominal speed (180 km/h). Among other instruments of dimensional control, Aerolab has two 3D Systems iPro 8000 SLA machines dedicated to the production of rapid prototyping model components.
