Founded in 2007, Aeolus Kenya Ltd, (“AKL”) is a world-class social impact energy and infrastructure developer and a leader in private sector initiatives, whose aim is to develop, finance, construct and operate critical public infrastructure. Together with its global consortium of commercial partners, AKL brings the highest international standards in engineering, technology, skill and capacity to Kenya and the East African region. AKL identifies and targets infrastructure needs in countries and their communities looking at power generation, ports, agriculture, rail networks and the master planning of trade corridors to unlock the potential of the country and the region with a focus on local wealth building and strengthening the fabric of the communities at the grass roots level. Our core mission is to devote the same energy and thought to developing positive social impact as to the development of much needed infrastructure. Our success is measured not only by the build, financial success and effective operation of each project but equally by the positive impacts on communities affected. As both a Kenyan company and a founding private sector member of the USAID-Power Africa Initiative, AKL is fully committed and continues to develop projects that support both President Obama’s initiative and Kenya’s Vision 2030 agenda. In October 2014, AKL joined the Corporate Council on Africa, a non-profit, membership-based organization established in 1993 to promote business and investment between the United States and the nations of Africa. With more than 180 companies, the CCA represent nearly 85 percent of total U.S. private sector investments in Africa.
