Diabetic foot ulcers affect millions of Americans and carry a five-year mortality rate higher than breast cancer — yet treatment options haven't meaningfully changed in a generation. Adlore is developing SenLore™, an investigational medical device designed to help treat diabetic foot ulcers and other hard-to-heal lower-extremity wounds, including venous stasis and arterial ulcers. SenLore combines controlled heat, electrical pulse stimulation, and integrated feedback sensors, built on research co-founder Dr. Daryl Lawson began during his doctoral work on chronic, non-healing wounds in people with diabetes. That research has since produced multiple issued and pending patents, peer-reviewed publications, and a research grant from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center — all before Adlore became a company. Unlike many wearable devices in this space that focus on detection and monitoring alone, SenLore is designed as an active treatment device, aiming to address the underlying cause of delayed healing rather than simply flagging a problem after it starts. SenLore is currently in development and has not been cleared or approved by the FDA.
