For more than 25 years, American University of Sharjah (AUS) has promoted ideas, research and creative work that have inspired development and change, driven by our core belief that tomorrow matters. AUS was founded in 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed AlQasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The embodiment of His Highness’ vision, AUS is a place where students are nurtured and encouraged to excel academically, thrive socially, celebrate their cultural diversity, and have a positive influence in their communities. Located in University City, Sharjah, AUS is a not-for-profit, independent, institution of higher education formed on the American model. We offer 28 majors and 45 minors at the undergraduate level, 15 master's degrees programs and four PhD programs through the College of Architecture, Art and Design; the College of Arts and Sciences; the College of Engineering; and the School of Business Administration. The University of Sharjah was established as a non-profit institution for higher education in October 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University. UoS is a comprehensive academic institution with a distinctive learning style and a global vision. It is a pioneer in academia, scientific research and the arts in the UAE and the GCC region. UoS has almost 14,325 students representing 96 nationalities and 656 full-time faculty. Our university takes pride in being a major international center for learning, culture and education. The Bachelor of Science degree programs in computer science, IT & multimedia, chemistry, mathematics and biotechnology are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET http://www.abet.org/. (applied science branch) All the programs in the college of communication are accredited by ACEJMC (Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication) The College of Business Administration is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) is an independent scientific organization administratively reporting to the Prime Minister. KACST is both the Saudi Arabian national science agency and its national laboratories. The science agency function involves science and technology policy making, data collection, funding of external research, and services such as the patent office. KACST has currently over 2500 employees. Based on is charter 31.I.2.1.985, KACST's main responsibilities can be summarized as follows: Main Responsibilities: 1. Propose a national policy for the development of science and technology and develop strategies and plans necessary to implement them. 2. Coordinate with government agencies, scientific institutions and research centers in the Kingdom to enhance research and exchange information and expertise. 3. Conduct applied research and provide advice to the government on science and technology matters. 4. Support scientific research and technology development. 5. Foster national innovation and technology transfer between research institutes and the industry. 6. Foster international cooperation in science and technology. Vision To obtain the scientific and technology knowledge needed for the Kingdom to achieve a better quality of life and sustained development. Mission To strategize, plan, manage, coordinate, and fund research and development in the Kingdom in compliance with the needs and requirements through: • Drafting policies and procedures and activating the cooperation and collaboration venues between research institutes, including universities and the private sector. • Building a national R&D infrastructure with qualified professionals. • Localization and development to solve local problems, improve life quality, and reduce cost.
