Adhia & Associates is a full-service Forensic Psychiatric practice. Dr. Adhia is triple-Board-Certified in Forensic Psychiatry, Brain Injury Medicine and Psychiatry. Dr. Mendes is Board-Certified in Forensic Psychiatry (UC Davis Fellowship) and a Fellowship at UC Irvine in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. We assess emotional distress damages, and psychiatric factors in civil, criminal, military, DBA and employment cases. Dr. Adhia also addresses TBI and other brain injury cases. Drs. Adhia and Mendes render medicolegal opinions, by written report and testimony, and are skilled at conducting Independent Medical Evaluation and thorough review of medical and legal records. Testimony rendered in most jurisdictions, criminal, civil, military, DBA, employment (FFD). We are skilled in evaluating PTSD, Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, TBI and concussion, Dementia, pre-existing conditions, medication side effects, and drug or alcohol abuse. We are trained and skilled in assessing malingering. Dr. Adhia is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at TIRR Memorial Hermann where he treats patients for neuropsychiatric complications of brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury. Previously he served as the Medical Director of PACE Mental Health. Dr. Mendes’ Psychiatric practice at Avenue 360, is mental health treatment of under-served populations in Houston. At Adhia and Associates he is a forensic psychiatric examiner. Dr. Adhia also volunteers with Physicians for Human Rights - Asylum Network and Daya Houston, conducting forensic assessments of victims of kidnapping and false imprisonment, human trafficking, undue influence, physical and sexual abuse, and rape.
