Adenydd is a charity based in Swansea whose core purpose and business is to provide information, guidance and support to children, families and practitioners focussing on the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and developmental trauma. Our mission: helping the world to feel a safer place for all children by facilitating the understanding of the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and developmental trauma for those involved in the lives of children. Alongside our direct support work, we deliver sensory regulation training for adults who work with, care for, or support children affected by trauma, ADHD, or ACEs. Our training is designed for teachers, parents, and practitioners who support children struggling with emotional regulation, sensory processing, or engagement within everyday and classroom environments. What makes our training different is its practical, empowering approach. We don’t just explain why regulation matters — we teach how. Adults gain clear, evidence-informed strategies that help children understand their own sensory needs and develop the skills to regulate themselves. Once learned, these approaches can be consistently used and taught to children, supporting greater independence, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing.
