The vision of the firm was to deliver the ultimate solution by separating the role of the architect from the principal agent and providing a dedicated project management service. This allowed the architect to focus on that which he is most competent, architecture and design while the project manager could focus on the administrative and organisational activities associated with the design, documentation and construction of buildings. The firm very early found itself specialising in healthcare facilities but also completed various other projects including residential, motoring industry, defence facilities and o ffice buildings. During 2016, Acumen joined forces with Scion Architects + Project Managers. Claude Kraëmer and his team united with Acumen adding to the experience in healthcare and industrial architecture. Acumen & Scion have a similar approach to architecture and projects which proved to be significant. Together the three successfully explored ways to revitalise the firm and its approach to healthcare and architecture in general.
