Actus3D is a provider of 3D Laser Scan Services and Consulting. We implement methodologies developed specifically for applying 3D laser scan data to the architecture, engineering and construction professions, focusing on its use in both documentation and the forensic study of buildings and structures. In addition to processed scan data, we provide a variety of CAD deliverables in 2D and 3D formats, from detailed plans and elevations to complex 3D Revit models and animations. Actus3D's Consulting services will help you understand the differences between various scanners and software, to find those options best suited to your company's specialized needs. We also provide hands on training in both on-site scanning procedures and in-office computer processing of the data. The owner, John Smits, is an architect with over 30 years' experience in the design and construction industry, as Principal of an A/E office to directing development projects in NYC. He is a frequent lecturer to professional groups and organizations on laser scanning technology, and has written articles detailing the use of laser scan technology in historic restoration and forensic study of buildings.
