Active Emergence Information

Emergence/Active Cognition specializes in digital fabrication learning programs for K-12 students. We use the FabLab@School model from the Transformative Learning Technologies Lab at Stanford University combined with Design Thinking process. During our programs students use low cost cutting-edge technology for design and construction-- such as 3D printers, laser cutters, microcontrollers and robotics --- to make their ideas tangible and learn about programing, design, engineer, art, science and technology. We believe that everyone is capable of understanding the technology that surrounds them and capable of using advance tools to manipulate their environment and develop their ideas. Our mission is to help formal and informal educational institutions and learning spaces to create the required environment and curriculum content to foster engaging learning.
