The Electoral Commission (IEC) is an independent constitutional body responsible for managing free and fair elections in South Africa. Its core functions include: • Managing national, provincial, and municipal elections • Maintaining the national voters’ roll • Ensuring election transparency and credibility • Promoting voter education • Declaring election results • Setting and enforcing electoral regulations.
