Action Ministries, Inc. is a unified family of ministries with program divisions in communities throughout North Georgia -- Athens, Atlanta, Augusta, Decatur, Gainesville, and Rome. Our services include case management, supportive services, education, transitional housing, food and feeding, and residential addiction treatment. We also have over 30 Transitional Housing sites in communities throughout the region. Action Ministries is a resource available to communities, civic organizations, and churches of all denominations to help address needs in local communities throughout north Georgia. Action Ministries, Inc. is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit with a $3+ million annual budget and a cadre of nearly 5,000 volunteers from congregations, businesses, community organizations and the public. Though we are independent and quite ecumenical, we have deep roots in the United Methodist Church. As such, we celebrate a covenantal relationship with the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church in ministry to the homeless, poor and others in need throughout North Georgia. The breadth of our ministries reflects our commitment to pull people back from the brink of hunger, homelessness, and addiction...and equip them to prosper. Action Ministries was one of the first, and remains among the largest, Georgia recipients of HUD funding to help the homeless stabilize through transitional housing and support services.
