AIDS Vaccine 200 (AV200) is a charity bike ride through the scenic Georgia countryside. The ride raises awareness and vital funds for HIV/AIDS vaccine research having donated to date over $3.2 million to the Emory Vaccine Center, one of the world's leading vaccine research centers working to find an HIV vaccine, and other Atlanta-area HIV/AIDS service organizations. The 2-day ride takes place in May each year. As of 2023, the ride starts at the Oxford campus of Emory University and winds through rolling hills in the Georgia countryside, passing through several small towns before returning to campus, where participants stay overnight. Cyclists can choose from several mileage options and customize the length of the ride to their ability level. The full ride entails back-to-back century rides (100 miles / 160 km) each day for a total of 200 miles. Shorter options include a 30-mile or 62-mile option each day, relaying with other cyclists, or a 10-mile fun ride on Sunday. Register to ride, volunteer, or consider supporting the cause at av200.org.
