Adopted November 21, 2000 ACPE Federal Credit Union is committed to making available financial products and services that will enable the credit union to meet the financial needs of members, to help members reach their financial goals. Protecting personal information and using it in a manner consistent with member expectations is a high priority for everyone associated with ACPE Federal Credit Union. To ensure that members can rely upon the quality of products and services ACPE Federal Credit Union makes available, the credit union will stand behind the following privacy policy: ACPE Federal Credit Union will collect only the personal information that is necessary to conduct its business. That means just what is necessary to provide competitive financial products and services -- no more. ACPE Federal Credit Union will protect all personal information. The credit union will maintain strong security controls to ensure that member information in its files and computers is protected. Where appropriate, the credit union will use security-coding techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and protect member confidentiality. Members will always have access to their information. Members of ACPE Federal Credit Union will always have the opportunity to review their information and make necessary changes to ensure that their records are complete and accurate. ACPE Federal Credit Union will only share information when absolutely necessary. The credit union will only share information to administer the products and services provided, when required to do so by the government, or when partnered with other businesses to offer a broader array of products and services. ACPE Federal Credit Union will partner only with businesses that follow strict confidentiality requirements. The businesses selected will offer products designed to enhance the members' economic well being. Under no circumstances will firms be authorized to charge member accounts without the member's expressed consent, and information will not be sold to telemarketing firms. ACPE Federal Credit Union will offer a choice to members in how their information is used. Any member of ACPE Federal Credit Union may elect to keep their information from being shared with the business partners. The credit union will inform members of how to exercise their choice, and will take all reasonable steps to make sure their requests are followed. At least once a year, ACPE Federal Credit Union will remind all members of their right to choose.
