Data Lineage Diagrams Lineage Manager assembles metadata to automatically draw meaningful and complete views of the data lineage. The tool produces data lineage diagrams in a variety of formats, focusing on Processes, Datastores or Applications. Each format has a different levels of detail and content. You can specify a start or end point and Lineage Manager will draw only lineage relating to those points. Technical metadata (e.g. column names) is displayed alongside business metadata (e.g. Business Glossary name). Lineage Manager understands the structure of an Organisation, its Business Processes, Applications, Datatores, and all the relevant relationships between those. It understands how physical data is affected by change, by regulation, and by company policy. This understanding can be plotted along a data lineage for a visual representation, and the metadata repository maintained within the tool can be fully searched, filtered and reported on.
