For six decades, ACDS has been a trusted resource for individuals with Down syndrome, autism, and other developmental disabilities, and families who love them. Headquartered in Plainview, NY, we support more than 1,500 children, teens, and adults through early intervention, preschool special education, residential group homes, day habilitation, and family services. What sets ACDS apart is continuity: many of our constituents start their ACDS journey in as infants in Early Intervention and remain with the agency through their adult years. Their teachers, therapists, and direct support professionals are still part of that person's life decades later. We call it the ACDS family, and it shapes how we approach every program we run. Behind our services is a team of educators, clinicians, direct support professionals, and administrative staff who bring patience, expertise, and genuine care to the individuals and families we serve every day.
